Last Friday Rob and I went to one of the "Pay & view" fields
right across from the main stand at Fairford, Glos the venue for the
Royal International Air Tatoo, it cost us £15 for the day versus around
£45 on the airfield so providing we didn't want to wander the flight
line static displays we had a great view of the action.
Unfortunately, the weather was dull, overcast with flat lighting and
occasional rain and only in the afternoon did the sky turn blue and by
then the majority of the flying was coming to an end.
I thought this was an ideal chance to try the Tamron 150-600mm on the
D810 and see how they worked together - I was not dissapointed and many
of the images are hand held.
The lens is super fast (and quiet) to focus and never missed a beat even
when tracking, I am very happy and the results I am pleased with
especially considering the poor conditions.
I worked for the US Government in West Berlin for 11yrs as a Photojournalist, I returned home in 1991 and continued in photography until 2001. I hope all who visit this site enjoy the photographs and appreciate what can be achieved using various equipment brands and a mix of photos taken with a variety of different sensor sized cameras. I must add that all images on this site are small JPEG so do not reflect the true quality of the original Raw conversions.

Hannah's weekend away
She and Donna were doing the hairstyles and makeup and did a fantastic job, once they had finished it was down to me to capture some photos of the occasion.
Rather than portraits they wanted some action / group images of the afternoon and we did some fun as well as serious images to provide a mixed view.
These are just a small selection of the 52 images taken.
