These are my first images with the D500 and all apart from a couple are taken with the incredible 300mm f4 FL lens (450mm equivalent on this camera).
What an incredible combination that are so easy to carry and lightning fast to work with, I have only used this at f4 and am staggered by the sharpness it delivers.
The weather was miserable to start with and brightened up a little later but this combo will prove perfect for wildlife and sport - looking forward to trying it for real.
I worked for the US Government in West Berlin for 11yrs as a Photojournalist, I returned home in 1991 and continued in photography until 2001. I hope all who visit this site enjoy the photographs and appreciate what can be achieved using various equipment brands and a mix of photos taken with a variety of different sensor sized cameras. I must add that all images on this site are small JPEG so do not reflect the true quality of the original Raw conversions.

Bristol - quick trip
I made a very quick trip to Bristol yesterday to exchange some equipment and while the equipment was being inspectedI took a quick walk around the docks as the "Bristol Harbour festival" was taking place.
It was crowded and couple that with the road works led to chaos getting anywhere by car.
I took the DF with 50mm and did manage to grab a few images I am pleased with.

One of the lenses I collected was the amazing and super small / light 300mm f4 ED PF lens.
This is the size of the 24-70 f2.8 and easy to handhold.
It delivers stunning quality wide open.
My first couple of images on the DF.

Bath Carnival day.
We went to Bath on Sat and discovered it was the Bath Carnival so I managed to grab some images with the versatile Nikon DF and 50mm lens.
The camera performed without effort and capture the event well.
