The Allotment

I had a good walk today through some deserted streets and along the road until I came to the allotments, this is an area I visit a number of times a year as the seasons change and so does the subject matter.

I had a good chat with a gent called Steve and he was happy for me to take his photo by the shed where he keeps his tools.

A few other people about clearing and preparing their plots for planting and despite the challenges of the virus everyone was friendly and there were some flowers appearing and signs of new growth in some areas.

No problems with social distancing here with exercise and fresh air in abundance to allow a distraction.

Journey back home

Abbey Grounds

Change of scenery today and took a walk through the Abbey grounds and market place to get to the shops for food shopping.

Another nice day with very few people about and plenty of provisions in the supermarket.

Back to the park

Another return to the park for our exercise and grabbed a few more photos of Sheila.

Chatted (at distance) with some people we knew and one said my wife looked like a Russian princess and then later on we had a quick chat with some walkers who thought my wife looked like Wonder Woman as she was spinning round to make her coat fly.

A good walk in the fresh air and again some photos I am happy with.

First portraits with the Fuji

Back to the park for exercise in an area where social distancing is not a problem and where I can try out the eye autofocus on Sheila.

Very happy with results and these are the images from our walk.

The return of Fuji

I have contemplated for a long time getting another Fuji X-Pro camera as I missed the X-Pro2 I had and the way it made me shoot in a way similar to the rangefinders I used in my Berlin days.

I finally purchased the X-Pro3 and 35mm f1.4 lens that equates to a 50mm standard lens on full frame.

What do I think of the camera so far - Wow, it is so much faster in every way than the previous model and the eye autofocus works really well, add to that the quality of image it delivers all making it for me a very good addition to the fold.

These are my first images taken with it on a trip into town for essential food shopping, we are in the grip of the Corona Virus so the town looks very deserted as people stay indoors and people were respecting personal distance even more so as I was wearing a mask.

After shopping I headed up to the park for some exercise.
