Signets

We were out at the lakes yesterday and called in at The Gateway for a bite to eat before heading out for a walk around the lake.

Luckily I had my camera with me and as I headed around the far end of the lake came across these two swans with their 7 signets close to the shore, I had to move very slowly and carefully so I did not upset the parents or signets (a few hisses from the father but no direct challenge).

Some of the signets tried to climb onto their mothers back but she would not let them so they had to keep swimming.

It was a lovely sight and I was lucky to capture these images before they all swam off.
